Learning foreign languages is a good way of self-development and knowledge of the world, the study of the cultural baggage accumulated by mankind throughout its history. In addition, knowledge of foreign languages allows you to make good money: working as a translator brings a fairly high constant or additional income. This is an indisputable fact.

Translation of an oral or written text from one language into another is what the work of a translator consists of. It is divided into many specializations: technical translations, literary, legal, oral, written, synchronous and so on. Such specialization must necessarily be indicated in the resume submitted to the vacancy of a translator.

Work as a translator in business

Each organization has business partners abroad and international projects, or at least strives for this. This task cannot be solved in any way without the help of a translator: with its help, business negotiations are conducted, various documents are drawn up. Communication with a variety of people, business trips to different cities of Russia and abroad - this can be the work of a translator. In Moscow or St. Petersburg, it is paid especially high.

Translation of a written text is an equally demanded and responsible activity. Large companies, banks, law firms constantly have to deal with foreign texts on their subjects. A technical translator, as a rule, chooses one particular specialization.

Remote work

It is also possible to work as a translator on the Internet. Freelance exchanges, remote job search sites provide such an opportunity. A remote translator is an employee who performs work without concluding a long-term contract with the employer and deals only with a specific list of work. Thus, he has a number of advantages compared to a regular translator:

- He draws up his own work schedule. It does not matter what time he is engaged in it: his task is to fulfill it on time and in a quality manner.

- He can refuse the proposed work if he does not like it, or he is already quite busy with other projects, or he simply does not have the mood to work at the moment.

- He can deal with translations constantly, as his main job, or just earn extra money with their help.

Alas, such a convenient job as a translator has its drawbacks that are common to all freelancers. The main ones are the absence of any guarantees.

- Being unofficial, this work may remain unpaid: the customer can happily take the finished text - and disappear.

- Freelance, of course, does not imply a social package: no paid holidays, sick leaves and weekends.

- It is not always possible to find a sufficient number of orders with decent payment.
