Now clerks are a despicable name designed to emphasize the insignificance of the person and the gray, monotonous and unimportant work that she performs. In parallel, the definitions used are “office plankton,” “paper soul,” and, more tolerantly, “white collar workers.”

Most people neglect office workers, believing that clerks are an unavoidable evil whose functions are bloated, working hours are wasted, and anyone who has become office plankton will never rise to any official heights or to decent pay attention. In some ways, this idea is justified: the duties that the clerk must fulfill are often too blurred. People often forget that this name “picks up” also accountants, lawyers and secretaries for themselves. But without them you will not get a salary, nor protection in case of problems with the inspection bodies. And simple “paper shifters” make life easier for their more advanced colleagues. All monotonous, uninteresting and often tedious duties are undertaken by clerks. It’s true that most of them go home minute after minute at the end of the working day - but at the same time, they faithfully do what they are entrusted with and what more creative employees disdain for 8 hours. That is why the list of vacancies for such a prestigious job is never scanty.

What attractive can be the work that the clerk does? First of all, a high degree of stability. In the presence of good faith and a tendency to some boringness, you can very well be sure that tomorrow will not bring you unpleasant shocks. At the same time, the work is rather lightweight, and it is usually paid pretty well. Despite the general opinion that the clerk is an eternal stagnation, the prospect of a successful career clearly exists. True, growth may take quite a long time. If the company where you work is large, you can get additional bonuses - they usually have both cash incentive systems and the possibility, for example, of soft loans. At the same time, you remain an employee, and the maximum that you risk losing is a job. And the responsibility to all state bodies lies not with you, but with the owner of the enterprise. And if you have some personal matter, you well covered your rear with “wasted”, but paid for time.

What do we have in the cons

Neither bright clothes, nor a piercing in prominent places, nor an intricate haircut, for men often always have a smoothly shaven face. Dress codes are usually required to be followed in all organizations. Career will grow slowly - it’s hardly possible to achieve quick and bright successes “right away”. And most importantly - monotonous work delays and causes some dullness if it is not resisted. In order not to become just plankton, one must constantly engage in self-improvement, strive to acquire new skills and knowledge. And if you don’t relax, don’t go with the flow, the status of a clerk will not become your “diagnosis” for life.
