When Marina was fired from work, she was beside herself with rage. It seems like a proven person, an old friend - and here's a knife in the back. However, she did not know that in reality fate presented her with a huge gift. If not for that case, now she herself would be behind bars.
Meeting old friends
Once Marina met a longtime friend Nikolai. At school, they studied in parallel classes and often intersected in a common company. The man looked gorgeous: in an expensive stylish suit, in a luxury car, he invited Marina to sit in a metropolitan restaurant in the city center. Who would have thought that a bully who had been skipping classes at one time would reach such heights? Marina was only surprised at the smug Nicholas.
In the restaurant, the man told a friend that he opened his own company, he became popular, began to earn good money. Now, several times a year, she and her family relax in Turkey and Thailand. Nikolay smoothly led the conversation to the fact that he needed trusted people in the company, and therefore he would be glad to see Marina in his team. The woman doubted.
She already had a good job. Maybe not as highly paid, but stable, reliable. But Nicholas made such arguments, so temptingly persuaded that in the end, Marina agreed. True, she did not sleep all night, but then she thought that the old friend should not, in theory, deceive, so it’s worth the risk.
Dismissal
At first, everything went well. Marina was taken to the position of accountant, she managed finances. Relations with Nikolai were just wonderful. However, on one not very beautiful day, a man flew into the office and almost with his fists nearly pounced on Marina.

After the dismissal, the search for a new job began. Nobody wanted to take Marina because of age: the woman was over forty, and everyone wanted to see young people nearby. But in the end, the woman was lucky - she was hired by one metropolitan company.
Marina quickly moved up the career ladder, bought a car, an apartment, and married her daughter out. She forgot to think about Nikolai and that scandalous incident. And then one day, by chance, on the news, Marina saw a story about how the head and employees of one company were arrested for financial fraud. So, the very same school friend Nikolai was the owner of it …
Who knows, perhaps Marina would now be shown in criminal reports, if not for that case.
