How can you characterize the canteen duty officer in the military structure of the Russian Federation? What do school cafeteria attendants do? All these questions will be answered further.

Who is the canteen duty officer in the RF Armed Forces?

In the military structures of the Russian Federation there are a huge number of units, divisions and posts. There is a hierarchy in a place like an army canteen. What are the responsibilities of the dining attendant? Who does he obey and what functions is he endowed with? According to the internal service charter, only a sergeant or ensign can take a place in the position in question. The deputy commander of the regiment should be given a special briefing (in some cases, the chief in charge of food is able to provide briefing).

The dining room attendant is subordinate to the regiment duty officer or his assistant. The person under consideration is subject to the cook and the assigned daily outfit. The duties of the dining room attendant include obtaining products, distributing food and monitoring sanitary standards.

General characteristics of the dining attendant

It is worth starting with a story about the necessary appearance of the person in question. The casual uniform should contain a special white jacket made of linen material with a patch notifying the person of the position. All the duties of the dining room attendant can be performed only under the direction of the dining room manager.

The employee should be aware of certain standards of sanitation and hygiene and work only in accordance with them. As already mentioned, the subordinate of the person in question has a whole outfit, as well as a cook. The duties of the dining room attendant include outfit management; the employee has the right to give them tasks and establish certain instructions.

He must be careful about the property at his disposal, especially utensils, kitchen utensils, etc. It is also worth noting that the duty officer is obliged to bear material liability in case of damage to the property at his disposal.

Knowledge and skills necessary for the service

According to the charter, the dining room attendant should have an idea of the following regulations and documents:

  • job description of a bread-cutter, cook or senior cook;
  • duty schedule;
  • safety instructions in case of charges or alarms;
  • fire regulations.

  • annex on waste standards;
  • norms of finished food;
  • special tables on the duration of heat or heat treatment of products;
  • standards for the issuance of products, etc.

It is also worth noting that the employee in question should have a calm, stress-resistant character, high working capacity and good organizational skills. Without such skills and character traits, the duties of the dining room attendant are unlikely to be optimally implemented. The charter, however, does not prescribe this. But probably every employee should know about such “unwritten rules”.

About the work of the duty officer

It is worth talking about the most basic functions of the person in question. Despite the fact that most of the time the duty officer works in the dining room, the military charter prescribes for him some organizational functions. About them will be described later.

The newly appointed duty officer is required to conduct a quality check of the outfit, its strength, structure and composition. Next - familiarization with all the necessary documentation. In addition to the acts indicated above, the employee is required to fill out a special statement and conduct periodic medical examinations of daily work. Also, the duty of the duty officer is to compile an inventory of all available kitchen equipment. The equipment located in the room, technical devices and other elements are checked for serviceability. Only after all of the above actions the duty officer is obliged to proceed with the briefing of the outfit. There is a distribution of responsibilities, endowment of functions and so on.

At the end of the duty, the employee must report to the deputy regiment commander. By the way, this action is included in the duties specified by the charter of the clerk on duty at the RF Armed Forces.

The main duties of the duty officer

It is necessary, finally, to fully name all assigned to the duties of the dining room duty.

What does the special military charter prescribe in this case? The employee must:

  • know the exact number of employees on a salary;
  • know the layout menu;
  • exercise control over the effective processing of products;
  • make sure that food is served only by cooks;
  • be present when laying products in boilers or any other kind of furnace;
  • check the exact mass of available products, as well as the accuracy of the mass in the statements;
  • not to allow people who have not undergone a complete medical examination to work in the dining room.

There are other duties of the dining room attendant; the charter of the aircraft assigns additional functions and powers to it.

The second group of duties of the dining room attendant in the armed forces: organizational and technical aspects

The charter also assigns to the duty officer:

  • control over the correct table setting and cleaning;
  • maintenance of cleanliness in the dining room and in the territories adjacent to it;
  • preventing the delivery of food in the event that it was not checked for quality by a medical assistant;

  • the requirement of cleanliness and order in the room, control over the available material values;
  • preventing food storage for more than a specified period;
  • ensuring safety requirements;
  • reporting to the authorities about all the shortcomings, violations, etc., revealed during the work;
  • greetings of superior persons with the words: “Comrade Colonel! The clerk on duty is Sergeyev (Petrov, Ivanov, etc.).”

These are all the main responsibilities of the workers in question in the field of the RF Armed Forces. And what about civilians? After all, the dining room is not only in the army. For example, you can take educational institutions.

School Canteen Responsibilities

Different educational institutions have different orders. Accordingly, the duty officer is also assigned differently everywhere.

The first thing to do is to highlight the main responsibilities of the teacher on duty in the dining room. It:

  • presence in the dining room at every break;
  • monitoring the hygiene and sanitary condition of the entire room;
  • quality control of dining table setting;
  • escorting children to the dining room;
  • resolution of emerging conflict situations;
  • informing the director or duty administrator about all identified violations, malfunctions or deficiencies of work.

It is worth noting that the system of teachers on duty in the dining room is not everywhere. However, almost every teacher should have an idea of what kind of duties there are on duty of the teacher on duty in the dining room.

On the rights and responsibilities of the school canteen attendant

Often, a person on duty in educational institutions is appointed from among cooks. It is worth noting that the person on duty has a much greater share of responsibility than ordinary workers.

So, the employee is responsible:

  • for sanitary and hygiene standards in the dining room;
  • for the safety of existing equipment and inventory;
  • for the quality of service;
  • for indoor safety

The duties of the dining room attendants in the senior group, middle or preschool are almost the same. The same can be said of responsibility. It directly depends on the number of functions assigned to the employee, and therefore on duty should be especially careful and accurate.

What about rights? They are absolutely no different from the rights of any other employee. This may include the right to request from the management the necessary documentation or tools, the right to exercise managerial functions, etc.
