Young specialists, university graduates often find themselves completely unprepared for the realities of the labor market. After all, they were taught mainly by theories, and in practice, applying knowledge is much more difficult. Just for those who want to grow professionally and become a master of their craft, and there is such a thing as an internship.
This is an opportunity to look at a profession or any task from a different point of view, from a different angle. This is especially important in those specialties in which development is inconceivable without knowledge of a foreign language.
For young scientists, doctors, lawyers, not to mention translators and managers, an internship abroad is perhaps the best opportunity to delve into the intricacies and broaden one's horizons. Peter I became the initiator of such foreign practices for Russia. It was thanks to him that Russian science and technology made a sharp leap forward.
Overseas internship is a bold plus in any resume. It is advisable to start preparing for self-realization in the profession from the first courses. Remember the simple truth: under a lying stone … Well, then you know. No one will be preoccupied with your development more than yourself. Try to read the professional press, magazines by profession, pay attention to in which industry and where the internship is offered. This is the first step.
Then start collecting the necessary documents. Active young scientists and specialists, if they really want to improve in the chosen field of knowledge, can receive both a foreign scholarship and
the possibility of living, and a free semester or even a year of study at prestigious colleges. Grants for all kinds of research and publications are another incentive option. In Europe, unlike Russia, young people are much more likely to start working right after school, combining work with study at a university. But for “home” students, any, even free internship, is an opportunity not only to meet the right people, but also to receive recommendations.
Do not neglect the volunteer work. Of course, a real internship is usually a paid study combined with practice, but you can also gain experience as a volunteer. For example, students of language specialties can receive translation skills at various conferences and exhibitions. For young lawyers, an excellent internship is, for example, assisting lawyers or notaries.
Experts from the tourism and service industries often gain work experience abroad. But for future sommeliers or restaurant managers, an internship in France can be an impetus not only to professional and career growth, but also to starting a business.
The easiest way to find an opportunity to gain experience in the information technology industry. Due to the rapid development, the largest corporations (Google, Microsoft) are willing to accept and train young, promising programmers and search engine specialists.
Almost everyone can find application for their talents and abilities, the main thing is desire and perseverance. Of course, you need to prepare for study and work abroad. Even if you are paid a scholarship, you need to think through all the points associated with living and eating. It will also be necessary to undergo language training. But the benefits that the internship will provide are your weapons in the battle for your place in the profession.
