The functions of workers in this field are different depending on the level. The operator of the second category boiler house is obliged to carry out maintenance of equipment whose heating capacity does not exceed 12.6 GJ / h. In addition, it ensures the uninterrupted operation of gas-fired and liquid-fuel boilers with a capacity of up to 21 GJ / h.
He must start, melt and stop the boilers, as well as carry out their recharge with water, regulate the combustion of fuel, control measuring instruments, monitoring pressure, water level and its temperature. In addition, the boiler operator is obligated to service boiler plants and other equipment with a total heat load not exceeding 42 GJ / h. Carry out water purification, start and stop engines, pumps, fans and other mechanisms necessary for the adequate operation of devices located in the boiler room. Clean boilers and fittings, as well as take part in the repair work of equipment.
3rd Duty Officer
The operator of the third category boiler house is engaged in the maintenance of water-heating boilers, the heating capacity of which does not exceed 42 GJ / h, and steam boilers with a capacity of no higher than 12.6 GJ / h of fuel and electric types. He also serves gas distribution plants, heat supply boilers and crushed steam stations.
In addition, the employee must start, stop, regulate and monitor economizers, air heaters, feed pumps and superheaters, ensure the smooth operation of all devices in the boiler room, and also monitor other units included in the heat supply circuit. In addition, it takes into account the indicators of heat transferred to the consumers of the boiler room, participates in repairs and so on.
4th Duty Officer
The work of the boiler room operator implies that the employee maintains water heating boilers with a heat output not exceeding 84 GJ / h, steam boilers with a capacity of up to 42 GJ / h, monitor the control and measuring equipment by adjusting the water level, temperature and pressure. In addition, his duties include monitoring the operation of the equipment and ensuring compliance with the steam consumption schedule. He must also take measures to prevent the occurrence of breakdowns and, if necessary, independently eliminate the arising malfunctions in the serviced devices.
Duties of the employee of the 5th category
The work of the operator of the fifth category boiler house assumes that he serves water heating boilers with a heat capacity of not more than 273 GJ / h, steam boilers with a capacity of up to 84 GJ / h. In addition, his responsibilities include switching power lines and connecting and disconnecting them from the mains.
He is also involved in connecting automatic equipment, preventive testing of all equipment, including various mechanisms and instrumentation. The operator must take part in scheduled repairs, take them after maintenance and prepare them for further operation.
Duties of the 6th rank employee
The work of the gas boiler operator assumes that the sixth category employee serves all systems of water heating boilers and gas installations with a total heat output exceeding 273 GJ / h, as well as separate equipment with a capacity above 546 GJ. In addition, he is involved in regulating the operation of equipment and reconciling their productivity with the amount of steam that is consumed. It should make up the fuel balance and timely notice and eliminate all equipment malfunctions in the boiler room.
Rights
The operator of the gas boiler has the right to receive everything necessary for personal protection. The company is obliged to provide it with materials, tools, as well as equipped workplace. It may require management to ensure normal working conditions. The employee also has the right to inform the management of all identified deficiencies in the organization’s work, if it is within its competence. He has the right to receive any information and materials that he needs to fulfill his duties.
A responsibility
The operator of the gas boiler is responsible for the improper performance of their duties and for non-compliance with the internal routine in the organization. He can be held accountable for not preserving the inventories entrusted to him by the leadership for the work. And he is also responsible for causing material damage to the company. Boiler house operators can be held accountable for violation of the criminal, administrative or labor code, in accordance with the current legislation of the country.
