Like any other similar document, the job description of a nurse has four generally accepted sections: the main provisions, duties, rights and responsibilities. The first includes information on the basic requirements for the employee. It clearly defines the issues of qualifications, subordination, staffing and basic basic knowledge.

The second section lists the professional responsibilities of the nurse and the functions that will be assigned to her. This refers to such actions as the initial assessment of the patient’s condition, the provision of first aid, assistance to the doctor and the implementation of all his instructions, the introduction of the necessary drugs. In addition, the nurse is fully responsible for recording, writing off and preserving medicines, and she is also required to keep the necessary documentation at the workplace. The duties of the nurse also include the preparation of the room itself and all the materials necessary for receiving patients by the attending physician.

Responsibilities of a Senior Specialist

In medicine, there is a strict hierarchy. Step-by-step organization allows to specify the scope of work as much as possible and increase the personal responsibility of each specialist. Therefore, for example, the job description of a senior nurse clearly defines her authority and reflects the main areas of daily professional activity. She, as a senior specialist, is obliged to work with junior and middle staff, ensure the availability of a specific medical institution with supplies, be responsible for the nutrition of all patients and maintain strict control over their medication. In a clinic, the responsibilities of a nurse depend on which department she works in: therapeutic, surgical, in a laboratory or in specialized rooms. Therefore, the job description of the nurse of the clinic is compiled separately for each specific case.

For example, in surgery, a nurse needs help preparing for the operation and assisting in its operation. And in the office of a specific specialist, she assists him in receiving patients. In addition, polyclinic nurses working with a district doctor provide medical services to patients at home. This is also their responsibility. This refers to visits to seriously ill people or young children in the first weeks of life for examination and on-site compliance with the instructions of the attending physician.
