Everyone is a pharmacist. This profession is at first glance attractive. It would seem that medical romance is present, and the responsibility is relatively small. But is it really so? What is the work of a pharmacist, what are the pros and cons of it?

Is a pharmacist and a pharmacist the same thing?

It is widely believed among ordinary people that a pharmacist is a person who works as a seller in a pharmacy. And no more. In fact, it is not entirely true; representatives of this profession work both in laboratories and in the production of pharmacological products. However, it is important to understand that the work of a pharmacist in a pharmacy requires only secondary specialized education, and in order to participate in the development of new drugs or to work, say, as a technologist at a drug manufacturing enterprise, a specialized higher education is needed. A pharmacist of the highest category is a pharmacist, a specialist who can begin his career either behind the pharmacy counter, or immediately in some more serious organization. It is worth noting that the trade in pharmaceutical products is developing rapidly, and the lack of qualified personnel is obvious. It is not uncommon for pharmacists with specialized secondary education to become heads of pharmacies over several years of work.

Work as a pharmacist in a pharmacy: features of the profession

A pharmacist working in a pharmacy should not only dispense drugs and count buyers, but also have a good understanding of the drugs sold. Do not forget that some types of pharmacological products are not allowed to be sold without a prescription. Another common situation - a buyer comes to a pharmacy and asks: "Give me something from the head." The pharmacist should not only choose the appropriate remedy for the described symptoms, but also try to convince the client to consult a doctor, especially if the situation is serious. As for responsibility, here everything is not as simple as it seems at first glance. Many drugs have a high cost, and even if you work honestly and accurately, there is a high risk that colleagues from another shift will not be the same. Is it easy to find a pharmacist at a pharmacy? Difficulties should not arise, even employees without experience and with secondary specialized education are in demand.

Pharmacist work schedule and average salary

All pharmacies in our country are divided into round-the-clock and working for 10-12 hours. The most common work schedules are 2/2 or 3/3, in the round-the-clock, usually different employees work day and night. Accordingly, there is a night shift - such a job. A night pharmacist works with a minimum of visitors. Some 24-hour pharmacies have daily schedules. How much do pharmacists earn? For Moscow, the lower wage for specialists in this field is in the region of 30 thousand rubles, for the province the average amount is less than exactly half - 15 thousand rubles. The work of a pharmacist is interesting in its own way, but not always simple - not all visitors to a pharmacy behave culturally. Physical activity is also high - after all, you have to spend most of the working day on your feet.
