The world belongs to the active. Anyone who is looking for new opportunities, work, the scope of application to his forces, will always find it. Often, in order for you to be selected from among many applicants, it is enough to write a competent response to the vacancy. You can make an example of such short messages yourself, then you just have to insert your data and a specific sentence.

This, it would seem, the first and insignificant step, in fact, is a kind of filter of the adequacy of the future employee, his ability to master information, his elementary culture. Therefore, the response to the vacancy (we will present an example below) should be thoughtful, restrained, with taste. Of course, you can attract attention with eccentric exclamation marks, emoticons, all kinds of pictures or voluminous text. But it should be taken into account before writing a response to a vacancy that “by style” (that is, by style, spelling, even email address) is met.

So what needs to be considered first of all? First, from what address to send a letter. Even if it seems to you that your personal mailbox is a model of creativity, the employer will not necessarily think the same. Therefore, a response to a vacancy, an example of which is worth copying for yourself and creating your own on its basis, is best sent from a neutral, more or less official address: one in which there will be no obscene associations or words. This is also important because often spam filters in the company may simply not miss such a response to the vacancy. The sample may be perfect, the content excellent, but the letter simply will not get into the employer's box.

The message (most often we communicate with our potential superiors by e-mail) should not be long. The maximum length is up to 700-1000 characters (this is approximately 8-10 lines). Do not pour out your soul, complain about previous employers, describe your genius on ten pages. Remember: this is just a response to a vacancy. An example can be offered as follows: "Hello. I found your ad on the site … I was so interested in this vacancy that I would like to offer my candidacy for the indicated position. As a confirmation of my competence and work experience I am sending a resume (portfolio, recommendation letter, etc.)."

Remember that the employer is most likely to throw out a blank letter, if it gets into his mailbox at all. In the subject of the message, you need to indicate a specific vacancy (for example, "sales manager in Europe" or "turner of the 3rd category") or the source from which you received the information: "response to the announcement on the site …". Be sure to observe the rules of etiquette: the letter should begin with a greeting, and end with the formula "with respect," "best regards," "I hope for long-term cooperation," or similar.

We recommend creating a separate mailbox for official use or searching for work and indicate your contact details (phone, possibly a website) in the signature. This will add seriousness and significance to your message. But even if you do not have such a signature, do not forget to leave the coordinates for communication at the end of the letter. It is unlikely that the employer will want to continue communicating with an anonymous person who did not even bother to send a resume.

So, the basic rule: restraint, brevity, observance of etiquette. It is also advisable to check the spelling in your message. The response to the vacancy, an example of which we cited above, should not contain errors: they can scare away even not too demanding employer. Remember this, and we wish you to find a good job quickly and without any problems.
