In each country, the profession of firefighter is surrounded by a romantic halo. There is probably no boy in the world who in his early childhood did not dream of becoming a fire fighter.
But, growing up, young men begin to represent the dangers of this work and are not very keen on becoming a firefighter. Those who devote their lives to saving people admit that they were attracted not so much by duties as by a romantic idea of the profession. What should a person know who has decided to embark on such a heroic path?
Profession fireman. Personal qualities
In order to fight fire, save people, risk their lives for the sake of strangers, strangers, one cannot but possess specific character traits, physical excellent data and a peculiar mentality. This is necessary not only for successful work, but also in order to save your own life in an extreme situation. Profession fireman obliges:
- Constantly in great shape. To support it, fire departments conduct constant training, and firemen themselves systematically pass certain standards.
This is not a whim. The uniform of a fire-fighter who goes on a call weighs more than 30 kg. But he needs to storm the stairs, carry people out, work with the hose.
- Be able to make instant decisions, have the ability to analyze, a sharp mind and determination. Any doubt, any confusion in an extreme situation can lead to the death of a firefighter, his colleagues or people affected by the fire.
- Possess very high stress resistance. Unfortunately, this profession implies that people can die in front of a fireman. This should not prevent him from acting clearly and accurately, making quick, but thoughtful decisions.
- Have a quick reaction, be bold, courageous, ready to engage in battle with the fire element at any time.
- Be able to provide first aid.
- Have psychological training, be able to talk with people in stressful situations, have a good command of your own emotions. At some point, the profession of a fireman is equated with the work of a psychologist: victims may behave inappropriately.
Profession fire inspector
If a fireman is a heroic job, then a fire inspector is a bureaucratic position, but no less important. Everyone knows that it’s easier to prevent trouble than to deal with its consequences later. The fire inspector is called upon to do everything possible to protect from fire the organizations subordinate to him and the people working in them. From fire inspectors depends on whether people can survive at the time of fire. The worst example of the inspectors' failure to fulfill their direct duties is the case at the Lame Horse club. The profession of firefighter implies the ability to risk oneself. The position of the fire inspector obliges you to know the many rules of the PPB, instructions, orders, laws, other documents. Ignorance of them, an irresponsible attitude to their duties, a penchant for corruption can cause terrible troubles. Is a fireman in demand today? It’s easy to find jobs, but to get to work, you need to go through several interviews and tests. And it turns out this is not for everyone. Only a select few can say about themselves: "My profession is a fireman."
