If you translate the word "disabled person" from the Latin language, it means - weak, unable, unfit. In recent times (the Soviet period), people with disabilities themselves, their lives, needs were almost never mentioned, as if they did not exist at all.

To date, the situation has changed a lot, and conditions for the normal functioning of these people gradually began to be created. Government buildings, shops are provided with a ramp or at least a bell to call an employee. A law has emerged to ensure the employment of persons with disabilities.

If you take, for example, the UK, then there the disabled person’s employment is taken under the control of social services. It’s not even essential what kind of physical limitations a person has. Work at home is organized for seriously ill people, and for those who work outside the home, special transport is provided. All this is carried out at the expense of the state.

The employment of people with disabilities in Russia in recent years has begun to gain momentum, especially when there was the possibility of free access to the Internet. Today, even on job search sites, there is a “remote work” section, it is possible to find work in your specialty, for example, to keep an organization’s accounting department.

Remote work has a number of positive factors. Most importantly, this is work at home. For people who are not able to move independently, this is very important. Work at home is carried out at a time when it is convenient for a disabled person, when his well-being allows. And the psychological moment is very important when a person feels that someone needs him and is useful.

Unfortunately, the employment of people with disabilities (the procedure itself) has many difficulties and features. Therefore, the number of entrepreneurs willing to hire a disabled person is not too large. An employer does not just have to hire a disabled person, he must organize a workplace for him, work should not be hard, and a working day should be a certain number of hours.

In general, under the law, if an organization has more than 100 employees, then there is a quota of jobs for people with disabilities. Employment of persons with disabilities is a certain percentage of the average number of employees, but this should not be less than 2%. For Moscow, such a quota is 4%.

By law, the employment of persons with disabilities provides for the following responsibilities for the employer:

- to allocate or create the necessary number of jobs for people with disabilities;

- create the necessary working conditions, according to the individual rehabilitation program (IPR), for each disabled person;

- in due time to provide information that is necessary for the organization of employment of people with disabilities.

If a person is refused employment only because he is disabled, then this is a direct violation of the law, which entails an administrative fine imposed on officials. Such a fine cannot be imposed on those employers who prove that they did not hire a disabled person solely because of a mismatch of his business qualities.

Work for disabled people in Moscow and other large cities is more real than in a small town or district center. For example, in Moscow, a hairdressing salon was created, where masters who are hearing impaired work. And with homework, things are easier there, the necessary details are delivered by courier and the finished product is taken by him. For disabled people living somewhere in the outback, the best option is to work remotely via the Internet, or using Russian post.
