Sooner or later, almost every employer is faced with the fact that he needs to draw up a characterization of the employee. But how should it look and what should be indicated in this document?

The employee profile is an official document. It should contain informative feedback on the official or social activities of a person. Using the characteristics, you can talk about the worker's path, his moral and labor qualities, describe his labor and social activity.

The following data must be present in the document:

  • Name of employee, date of birth. It should also indicate what kind of education he received, provide a complete list of educational institutions that he graduated from.
  • The next paragraph, which should contain the characteristics of the employee - the name of the company or organization where it was drawn up, lists the positions occupied by the person during work, and his professional duties.
  • Positive qualities (both personal and professional), data on rewards and awards are listed.

With writing a positive characteristic, as a rule, there are no problems at all. Everything is much more complicated if you need a negative employee profile.

Of course, in an official document you won’t write something like “snoring at the whole office” or “eating chips at work and not sharing.” It is important to remember that you are responsible for the content of the specification. Therefore, it should be objective to the maximum, and your opinion should be supported by specific facts.

It is best if the negative characteristics of the employee are documented. There must be references to documented misconduct, examples of negligence, etc.

The numbers of all internal documents should be indicated.

You should not include in the description data that could be characterized as gossip, rumors or your personal opinion.
