However, why be surprised, because this profession is on the verge of extinction, and soon it can be found only in the records of historians or in novels written no later than the last century. But there were times when it was very prestigious, and the person who mastered it could calmly feed his family.
Who is a cart master?
As can be understood from the name of the profession, the cart master is a specialist who creates carts, carts and carriages. In addition, it undergoes all repair work - from replacing the wheel to the complete restoration of the body.
Naturally, now you rarely see a cart or cart, but a hundred years ago such transport was the usual norm. Wealthy merchants, lords and even kings rode in carriages, which now and then broke. It will take a long time to master the profession, as it requires special accuracy and well-honed skills. Otherwise, the wagon could simply fall apart after the first hundred kilometers, and then it will take a long time to apologize to the angry client.
But what exactly should a cart master be able to do? The profession consists of three interconnected parts that everyone needs to master.

- Joiner skills are equally important. The cart master must be able to work with different types of wood, otherwise he may not be able to cope with a specific order or choose not quite high-quality wood.
- Engineering. Let the design of the carts is quite simple, but sometimes you can not do without a drawing. Especially in cases where you need to design a carriage or an unusual wagon.
Cartmaster in modern society
Now the cart master is a wilting profession. The reason for this is the progress that cars have introduced into people's lives and thereby left these specialists on the sidelines. And yet there are still organizations that recruit cart masters.
After all, even now there are still carts, carts and carriages. In big cities, you can often get offers to ride around the city in a horse cart or rent a luxury carriage instead of a limousine. Such services are successful, which means that work for cart masters is still there.
True, graduates of technical universities who have a general idea of the arrangement of carts often work in this position. But hereditary masters are almost gone, because not everyone now wants to learn this rare profession.
